Our Mobile Short-Range Air Defence (MSHORAD) solution – comprising Saab's Giraffe 1X, C2 and RBS 70 NG Remote Weapon System (RWS) – enables moving units to identify and counter air threats quickly and effectively.

In action

MSHORAD is designed to travel alongside units, offering relentless protection and defence in a moving combat area.

In an operational scenario, a vehicle with Giraffe 1X first manoeuvres to a secure position some distance behind the unit.

The command and control system (C2) creates a local air picture, evaluates the threat and provides automatic engagement support.

Once data is received, RBS 70 NG’s missiles engage within five seconds. The product also features visual 3D cueing.

Small, lightweight and man-portable, each component can be easily installed onto any vehicle platform for exceptionally versatile deployment. The solution’s modular design means it is incredibly flexible and can be installed alongside existing equipment.
